Back in 2006, when Henry Woods asked me if I would consider selling ads for the Waterfront Playhouse program for a year, I had no idea that it would lead me to the start of a busineess that 20-years later is supporting 17 different theaters and events in town and promoting hundreds of businesses over the years.
I started with just one theater, then Island Opera, Red Barn Theatre and the Key West Symphony asked me to sell their programs as well. One of my clients said to me, when I first approached her with four programs to buy, “This is great… I only have to see one person instead of four different people. Now if you could make all the programs the same size, it would cost me less to produce ads and I could support more.” So, with the help of Liz Young at the Florida Keys Council of the Arts, I attended a meeting that all the theaters were present and suggested that. And they all agreed.
After that year, the client list grew. In 2011, when Peter Arnow, who was the driving force behind the Tennessee Williams Theater program, joined forces with me, we offered 8 programs (Remember Key West Pops,Keys Kids,Key West Food and Wine Festival and Key West Songwriter’s Festival had programs back then.)
The following year, we offered 15 programs including Nutcracker Key West, Music in Paradise, Anne McKee Fine Art Auction, Truman Foundation, Summer Stage productions, Key West Fringe and the Key West Film Festival.
In 2023, Diane May joined our team to help promote Key West businesses and our theaters and events. She had been working in sales and events before joining with Peter and me.
While we have had some organizations come and go, we were there to help each organizations season be their best.
For the 2026-27 theater and event season, you can see just one person to place your ad in 17 different programs or events. While two organizations maintain a larger size program, the rest of the programs are all the same size.
